What a mission contains

A mission is one finding, fully specified. The exact systems it touches, the control it maps to in NIST SP 800-53 Rev 5.1.1, the evidence state right now (asserted, evidenced or validated), the business impact if it stays open, a named owner and a due date. Nothing in it is typed twice. When the scan that raised it is re-run and comes back clean, the mission closes and the control's compliance state updates in the same record the board reads.
